About Me

My photo
I'm Alyx. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, or have sex. I'm in a committed long distance relationship. I majored in fine arts at an art high school in NC. I now live in Sarasota, FL and major in photography. I take photos because I love making people feel beautiful. All my self portraits are taken in my bathroom. I don't claim to know a lot about photography, but I want to learn and that's what matters.

Paper bags.

More random AP Art shit. The longer you look at something, the more attached to it you grow. I'm bound to put more old stuff up here before the summer's over - just for old time's sake. *On a side note, I made a perfect 5 on my AP Art exam. While that may be an expected score to all you other incredible young artists out there, that was one of the largest milestones in my life. For once, I truly feel like an artist.

It's a job I'd do for free.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing Frank and Sandra LoNano's 50th Anniversary celebration. (: This was my first paid job, so I was ridiculously nervous and had bad social anxiety - knowing barely anyone there. But in the end, it turned out great. I got to finally try out my new Canon EOS 5D Mark II with it's 50mm and 85mm lenses, and 430EX II Speedlite. Here's a few sample pics.

Self.

A special mark dedicated to all the people I've met through 5/6 years of enjoying the anime series, Fullmetal Alchemist. You guys have been my life lines for as long as we've known each other and I always want you to be with me, no matter where we go in the future.

"The sun is my lighting, the clouds my diffusers." -Nirrimi

Random portrait shots of Sara Robinson and Marie Hylton. I used these in my senior project, which consisted of a plethora of random-ass shots and commissioned work.

Art from my senior year in AP Art. My theme for all my pieces was "patterns", and you can't be more inspired for that theme than after watching Alice in Wonderland.

Rest in peace, awesome shed. D:

So this shed's been behind my house for years, even before I moved here in Kindergarten. I think the owners tore it down because, the one day in 12 years I actually try to utilize it, they just so happened to be outside on their porch watching. Bummer. ): And yes, it was extremely dangerous (but don't tell my models that).

This was a photo I took for my senior project earlier this year.

Sabrosa, my beautiful cat (aka Dashing Evil Dr. Whiskers).

I started this drabble almost a year ago and just now finished it.

We stole our own hearts like bandits. Every inch of unrelenting guilt crept along our skin and found its way into those hearts that weren't rightfully ours. Nothing was ours. Those eyes that lit up like Christmas lights to the cadences of relief after a lifetime of hopeless romance were so foreign. Your careless disposition was always faintly transparent to the vulnerability your voice expressed. Your thoughts never quite aligned with the words that settled in your throat and slipped from your lips at the most inappropriate moments. Our hearts were stolen; this was love.
